CoA Courses are available to the public as auditing students, Dual Enrollment High School and Home School students. Enrolled CoA students and Dual Enrollment students must register through Populi.

Course Location: Courses are held at the CoA Campus, 1331 New High Shoals Rd., Watkinsville, GA 30677, with possible virtual options as noted.
CoA Refund Policy
CoA offers in-person, blended, virtual, and online classes. Check the schedule below to select the type of class meeting that best suits your schedule and geographic location.
Online Class. All CoA courses offered online have a 2 hours of required live videoconference meeting times for each credit hour. The instructor will poll all enrolled students for their availability to schedule the virtual course meeting times.
Videoconference Class. These virtual classes meet by live, synchronous videoconference. Students are expected to attend classes virtually at the regularly scheduled times.
Blended Class. Most CoA courses can be taken virtually by students who do not live locally. Contact your Academic Advisor for more information about attending a “blended” class.
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of pastoral counseling, with a strong emphasis on developing the listening skills essential for effective spiritual care. Students will explore the biblical, psychological, and ethical foundations of pastoral counseling, learning to approach the needs of individuals and families with compassion, wisdom, and integrity. Key areas of focus include marital and family issues, abuse and trauma, depression, and suicide intervention.

Meeting Times: Thursday 5:00-8:00PM, In-person & Virtual, 7 weeks (starting May 14th)
The course presents a survey of Christ-centered biblical history and provides, through the study of Scripture, a theological framework for God, Jesus, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the spiritual world, evil, the Church, and specific theological beliefs. The course includes an introduction to inductive Bible study and an overview of church history.

In this course, you will learn and apply key strategies for offering discipleship coaching and ministry to individuals who may or may not yet have a personal relationship with Christ. You will explore the connections between body, soul, and spirit as related to whole-person ministry as well as understand and apply biblical principles for physical healing. As a result of this course, you will be equipped to operate effectively in ministry to individuals in need of care.

The English Composition course prepares students for the rigors of college writing with an emphasis on correct writing mechanics, writing for effective communication, writing styles appropriate to the intended audience, and proper citations. Students are required to complete a research paper on a Christian topic of personal interest at the culmination of this course.

This course covers basic accounting systems, concepts, and principles. Students learn to record business transactions and to prepare financial statements. The primary goals of this course are to develop an understanding of the accounting process and to summarize and communicate information useful in making economic decisions.

This course provides an overview of ministry leadership and organization of ministries designed to evangelize and disciple young, mid-life, and senior adults. Theological, cultural, and practical issues related to adult ministry will be addressed, with particular attention to how each of these aspects contributes to an overall strategy of effective adult ministry.

This course provides an introduction to the Hellenistic, New Testament Greek language. Through sound principles of linguistic interpretation and grammar, the student will achieve beginning confidence in reading and doing exegetical, biblical studies while learning New Testament Greek.

This course investigates the narrative content of the first five books of the Old Testament known as the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). It provides an overview of the main critical approaches used to interpret these books, but the approach to the five books is both canonical and historical. Attention will be given to cultural backgrounds, critical problems, and literary genres as they aid interpretation of specific texts with special emphasis on how these texts illuminate the person and work of Christ.

The goal of inductive Bible study is to equip students with the tools to be life-long students of the Scriptures. The course presents a method for exegesis and Scripture study by considering the context and setting of the passage, the author’s audience and purpose, and the other passages that surround the passage of study. The purpose of the study is to understand what the text would have communicated in the context of the time and culture that produced and used it, while also understanding that contemporary questions are conditioned by our own language, culture, and history.

This course presents an overview of the history of the Bible, its writing and centuries of preservation, and provides an introduction to the history and theology of selected books and passages of the Old Testament. Through the study of the Old Testament, students will build their inductive Bible study skills.

This course will equip students to identify and develop their identity in Christ as stewards entrusted with unique, individual talents. The course provides a biblical perspective on spiritual gifts and explores theological issues surrounding spiritual gifts in ministry. This course will give students the tools to discover, explore, and practice their God-given gifts and talents and will prepare them to represent the Lord in their circles of influence within a domain of leadership through the application of strengths and gifts within the context of ministry teams and as team leaders. Students will examine biblical, historical, and philosophical precedents for working groups and teams as related to ministry applications and realities.

Meeting Times: 4 Fridays (Mini-mester 1), August 21, September 4 & 11, October 2
This course introduces students to the importance of a Christian’s call to bind up the broken hearted, with the goal of learning how to apply biblical principles and prayer techniques to specific issues such as anger management, marital breakdown, addiction development, crisis management, anxiety, depression, and grieving. In addition to understanding the importance of self-care, students will learn how to listen emphatically, how to facilitate spiritual life assessment and change, and how to pray and counsel strategically within the recipient’s process of spiritual, emotional, and relational growth and healing.

Elijah House Prayer Ministry Training Course 202 gives an advanced learning opportunity in specialized issues. Topics include: earliest childhood traumas, emotional abuse, generational inheritance, the effects of occult involvement, addictions, denial, sexual issues, burnout, etc. Ministry tools include how to create a safe atmosphere for ministry and how the Prayer Minister can properly care for their own spiritual life.

Throughout this 12-month Coaching 4 Christlikeness course, you will progress through a Christian discipleship coaching program consisting of four phases: Identity, Inheritance, Intimacy and Impact. You will be paired with a peer coach, operating in both roles as coachee and coach while you progress through the phases Your personal, experiential growth throughout the discipleship model will serve as key components for your own Christian growth. Upon completion of the program, you will be well equipped to restore and build up other people to live from a place of wholeness in Christ, and to help empower them for their personal journey through all aspects of their God-given purpose You will qualify for certification as a Christian Life Coach.

In this course you will explore both the philosophy and the practical application of Transformational Leadership as an effective means to meeting societal needs for leaders who are well able to provide adaptive and creative solutions for the challenges that confront the modern world. (You will finish this course with a real-life vision plan to fulfill as desired.)

Cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting are discussed as they relate to other business disciplines.
