God’s Peace & Presence

November 16th. God’s Peace & Presence. Colossians 3:15-17 (NIV) “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Heavenly Father, we come to You with grateful hearts. We acknowledge Your steadfast love, Your greatness, Your mercy, and the abundant grace You shower on all of Your children. We humbly come into Your presence, knowing that it is not because of our own accomplishments or importance that we can enter into fellowship with You. Rather, it is by laying aside our pride and seeking after the heart and mind of Christ that we can enter into Your peace. Through the blood of Your Son and the power of the Holy Spirit, we come into Your Presence with our praises, our petitions, our meditations on Your Word, and our songs, psalms, and hymns. We give to You all that we are, and offer ourselves to You as living sacrifices, abundantly living in redeemed relationship with You and with our fellow believers. We ask that all of us affiliated with the College of Athens will come to you wholeheartedly, and that we will continually grow together in the joy You set before us. In Your Presence, unite us in love and purpose, that those around us might see our love for You, and that all might come to treasure Your love in their own hearts and minds. In Christ’s Name, Amen.
