Sharing the love of Christ!

Here at the College of Athens our mission is “to equip men and women for Christian life and ministry with a Biblically-centered spiritual and personal foundation so that they might glorify God by passionately fulfilling the great commission of Jesus Christ through worldwide service.”

 

 

We are passionate about God and passionate about God’s people. Therefore, we are passionate about God’s mission, namely for God to be glorified and receive the worship he deserves from all the peoples of the earth. We believe CoA is uniquely positioned as a Christian interdenominational college in Athens, GA to train, equip and send out Christian leaders into the harvest field to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a lost and dying world. For this reason it is our desire as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ to join God in his mission of seeing people from every tribe, tongue and nation come to know, love and worship him. We accomplish this by co-laboring with Christ across the globe to equip and raise up Christian leaders grounded in God’s Word and empowered by His Holy Spirit who will in turn perpetuate the making of new disciple-makers.

So what are we doing to accomplish this right now?

Short-Term Mission Trips

Boston

A short-term mission trip

Each year CoA sends a mission team to Boston, Massachusetts, for a week to partner with a local church plant in evangelism, service projects, prayer walking, and cultural immersion in an unchurched context. The trip has been very impactful both for the participants and for the local communities in which they have served, and we are grateful to partner in the long-term work that God is doing in that city.

Atlanta

A 1-Day Cultural Immersion Trip

Each year CoA sends a team to Atlanta with one of our mission partners for a day of cultural immersion, learning, and interaction with the nations that are present in Atlanta. The participants have the opportunity to learn more about the diversity present in Atlanta and then spend time touring local places of worship and experiencing local restaurants. The hope is that students will gain more of God’s heart for the lost that are located right in our backyard.

Indonesia

In March 2020, one of our staff members had the opportunity to travel to Indonesia to meet with the leadership and the students of a Christian college and missionary training center there. CoA and the partner organization are currently discerning and praying through opportunities to work together in the distant future for the benefit of both organizations! Please keep this future opportunity in your prayers and ask God for clarity and wisdom for CoA on the right path to take in long-term partnership with this organization.
