Jesse Colbert, PhD

Faculty

Biography

Dr. Jesse Colbert earned his undergraduate degree in Religion at Belmont University while playing on the baseball team.  It was during that time, encouraged by his inability to hit a change up, that he answered God’s call upon his life into parish ministry.  Over the past 20+ years, Jesse has served the local church as Student Minister, Bible Teacher, and Pastor.  Also, during his life in the ministry, he discovered his love of learning and different perspectives on the Christian life with God.  He holds degrees from Baptist, Presbyterian, and Episcopal institutions.  He is passionate about the early church found in the book of Acts and in the early church fathers.  He loves teaching and continues to serve as a pastor in a local parish.  He is married with three children who consider him to be quite the Bible nerd.  His first book, Blood, Sweat, and Casseroles: 10 Life Lessons from a Pastor’s Experience is slated to be published later in 2023.
