November 14th. Power of the Word. 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV) “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,”
Heavenly Father, we offer up our praises to You for Your steadfast love and for Your abounding mercy. We also thank You that You are the “known God”—that You have revealed Yourself in the living pages of Your Word. Thank You for drawing close to us so that we may draw close to You. Thank You for the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit, who enters our hearts and minds and opens our eyes to the beauty, wisdom, and truth of Your Word. Thank You that every verse of scripture is breathed-out by You, and points to Your Son—Christ—the Word made flesh. Christ stands as our motivation and our means to hide Your words in our hearts, and then to go forth and every day live more and more in Your will. Through your grace and the Power of Your Word, we can know and live out the timeless, unchanging truth of Your gospel. We ask that with the indwelling strength of the Holy Spirit, we the Board, faculty, staff, and supporters of the College of Athens will be enabled and emboldened to spread that gospel message to our students, our local communities, our state, our nation, and our world. In Christ’s name, Amen.
