Every year the faculty, staff, students and families of the college come together to serve the Athens community in Christ’s name. Our event is an opportunity for Christians to unify as a representation of Christ to the world. This annual joy-filled day brings the heart of Christ and his servants closer to others. We hope that you and your church will join us in bringing God’s love to those around us this year! Past service sites include nursing homes, churches, and homeless shelters.
Complete the form below to join CoA with this year’s event. Anyone with a servant’s heart can participate, you do not have to be affiliated with the college in any way. We invite you and those around you to join us as we come together in Christ’s name to serve the Athens community.
ServeAthens ICN (in Christ’s name) is designed to bring together the body of Christ for a day of service in blessing our city and blessing others. This was the ninth overall ServeAthens event and fourth consecutive event after a break of several years. The 2023 event was hosted by St. James Church where the morning kickoff was held. After the kickoff, volunteers divided into various teams to serve from 9:30AM to 2:00PM at a variety of sites around the Athens area, ranging from a prayer walk over downtown Athens to landscaping at the College of Athens property. Sack lunches were then delivered to service teams throughout the day. Overall, we had 80+ volunteers serving at 7 different service sites from 18 different churches, which are slight increases over the 2022 event. Participants noted on event feedback that they had a positive experience. We look forward to hosting ServeAthens again in 2024!

October 2024
ServeAthens In Christ’s Name 2022 was held on Saturday, October 22, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. Nations Church (8780 Macon Hwy, Athens, GA 30306) hosted the kick-off session, which was followed by the volunteers being sent out to their various project sites to serve. Breakfast and lunch was provided for all volunteers.
The 2021 ServeAthens event on Saturday, October 23rd was a success!
The 2020 ServeAthens ICN event on Saturday, October 24th was amazing! We had 120 volunteers from 22 different churches working at 9 various project sites, praise God! Click the picture above to see some of the highlights!
