November 15th. True Worship. Psalm 29:1-2 (NIV) “Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.”
Heavenly Father, we worship You and bless Your holy name! We give all the glory to You, Lord, for You alone are worthy of all our praise! We realize that it is not great displays of power, prestige, wealth, and importance that You seek, but instead a humble and contrite heart. We ask that you always remind us of Your splendor, and that you keep us from all worldly boasting and hide us under the shelter of Your wings. Remind us at the College of Athens that everything we do is out of Your good and for Your glory. Let all be done with a glad, worshipful heart. Keep us mindful of the ways that we can help steward the hearts of our students and those in our community. Cause us to display proper worship—always faithful, loving, and true to You. We pray that You delight in our praise of You—of who You are, of all that You have done, and all that You will continue to do! In Christ’s Name, Amen.
