College of Athens requires the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be completed to determine Title IV eligibility. Our school code is: 042719.
All new, incoming student FAFSAs must be fully completed at least 14 days prior to the first day of classes for any semester. College of Athens offers the following forms of student aid:
Pell Grants. Based on your household income, many undergraduate students qualify for full or partial Pell Grant funding. Pell Grants are free to students and do not need to be repaid.
Work-Study. Students may send their resumé to Mrs. Cindy Berry if interested in a work-study assignment. Work-Study funding is offered at the rate of $12.00 per hour and is applied directly to your tuition bill (not as payment directly to students).
Merit Scholarship. Full-time undergraduate students entering with a high school GPA in core classes of 3.85 or higher, or full-time graduate students with a GPA of 3.85 or higher in at least 30 credits of previous college course work may receive Merit Scholarship. A Merit Scholarship award is $1000 per academic year, applied equally across fall and spring semesters.
Need-Based Scholarship. In some instances, based on your FAFSA index score and other circumstances, CoA may offer additional tuition reduction aid to students with substantial financial needs.
CoA does not participate in federal student loan programs and discourages students from incurring debt to complete their studies.
Please direct any questions about financial aid to Mrs. Cindy Berry at bursar@collegeofathens.edu or call 706-769-1472.
CoA accepts GI Bill®, which can be used to cover tuition costs for eligible veterans. If you are a veteran and plan to use GI Bill® to cover tuition and other school costs please contact Mrs. Cindy Berry for more details, bursar@collegeofathens.edu
For Title IV purposes, federal veterans education benefits, as defined under Section 480(c) of the HEA, are not treated as Other Financial Aid.
